Outdoor work runs on the weather rather than the calendar. Timber that goes down damp will move, sealant applied to a wet joint will not stick, and paint that is rained on within an hour of going on is paint that has to be done twice.
This strand is mostly about timing and about drainage. Water that cannot get away is the cause of a remarkable share of outdoor repairs, and a great deal of outdoor maintenance is really just giving water somewhere to go.
